The Haunted Attraction Industry joins the fight against breast cancer

Some of the most prominent names that make “scary” their business are pulling every skeleton out of the ground to raise money for fellow Haunters/Haunt Owners Nancy Allen and Kathryn Dessault. 

The Official Drive, “Haunters for Hooters”, will take place at Midwest Haunters Convention in Columbus, Ohio June 13-15th.   Included in the sponsor list are BIG names like Midnight Syndicate Films and Soundtracks, The International Association of Haunted Attractions, Haunted Attraction Magazine, Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights in Orlando, Sinister Visions inc., The Ghoulish Gallery, Dee Snider from Twisted Sister/Van Helsing's Curse,  Pat Priest from “The Munsters” and Camden Toy from “Angel" and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer”, just to name a few.

Haunters for Hooters is a non-profit fundraiser with 100% of profits going to brave breast cancer fighters Nancy Allen and Kathryn DeSautell.

LOLA DAVIDSON 

Lola Davidson, STAR of "Search for the Next Elvira" has donated her dress she wore on the show to Haunters for Hooters. Lola has also stared in MANY various Horror Films. Check out her IMDB http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1068991/. Lola is THIS 2008 HALLOWEEN's "It girl", so please contact her to come out to YOUR HAUNT OR CONVENTION this year!

Lola is pictured here in her dress from "Search for the next Elvira". This dress will be raffled off at 4pm on Saturday, June 14th during Midwest Haunters Convention at the Haunters for Hooters booth. You will also recieve a signed photo from Lola in this dress.

I worked with Al Lewis AKA Grandpa Munster for many years at Haunted Attractions and events. He gave me this doll ORIGINAL from "The Munsters" and signed it in gold. (This doll is over 40 years old). It has been one of my most valued possessions for the last 8 years. Doll stands 9" tall, and I will include doll stand AND solid red oak and glass mirrored doll curio. He will be raffled off at the Haunters for Hooters booth at 4pm on Saturday, June 14th 2008 during the Midwest Haunters Convention. Raffle tickets will each be $1.00.

A TOUCHING LETTER TO HAUNTERS FOR HOOTERS
Hello Jen,
I think this is a Great Idea, and a theme overlooked Darlene my Wife of 33 years was diagnosed with Stage 3b Breast cancer in January, 1998.3 days after her Thirty ninth Birthday, she was given less than 10 months to live, She went to Ohio State University Medical Center [ The James Cancer Center] their She went through Six weeks of painful and sickening treatment, With a [ BMT ] Bone Marrow Transplant.This July 30th,Will mark Her TEN YEARS!! of being in Cancer Remission. So The money helps As a result We / She started doing Halloween and we now do the largest Fund raising event at East Harbor State Park in Ohio. The park closed on labor day now during our event the first two weekends of October they have a waiting list six months in advance for Halloween,We are known as the Boo Crew. Her reason for doing Halloween is as she states Quote I've slept with the Grimm Reaper and Want to keep him close so I can keep an eye on him, Unquote. We have been attending most shows and are spending a few days at Midwest Haunter's Convention in Columbus Ohio.The great thing about MHC, Is that Sunday afternoon before we leave to return home. Is that Ohio State Cancer Center's reunion for Survivors is that day at the Columbus Zoo, It's 15 minutes from the convention center and right on our route home. Hope I have not bored you but The theme really is over due in this industry,Thanks for not being afraid to mix dark fun and the hint of death with cancer it seems taboo but it really is two separate things if can understand what I am trying to say.So in closing

THE DISBURSEMENT OF FUNDS THROUGH HAUNTERS FOR HOOTERS

Due to the size and magnitude this fundraiser has become, there will no longer be any specific item or event donations going to either Kathryn OR Nancy. All funds donated and collected from Haunters for Hooters will be split evenly between Nancy Allen and Kathryn DeSautell. After funds have been recorded and checks have cleared, two cashiers checks will be issued for equal amounts after Midwest Haunters Convention.
Funds will be over seen at the Haunters for Hooters booth by: Dusti Lewers, Nathan Zwiefel, Jon Tucker, and Jen Sharlow. All Credit cards must be run through Midwest Haunters Convention, and a check for the full amount (minus 4% for processing fees to the card companies) will be issued to Haunters for Hooters after the event. Haunters for Hooters itself can take cash, check or paypal. You will receive a hand written receipt upon donation. Should you choose paypal, you will receive a receipt from paypal for your records.
Many emails have been sent regarding donating to a specific woman. Should you choose this route, Haunters for Hooters suggests you make a personal check out to the lady you want to help as a PERSONAL DONATION. This will not go through Haunters for Hooters, although we can you get in touch with the specific person you wish to help.

Haunters for Hooters is excitied to have this exclusive item for our silent auction at Midwest Haunters Convention! Bobbie Wiener, aka "Bloody Mary" WORLD FAMOUS MAKE-UP ARTIST will be auctioning herself off for a Haunt Visit and Demo in October 2008. Bidding will start at $3000.00 (please include airfare, hotel, transportation and per diem.) 100% of proceeds from this AMAZING donation will go to Kathryn DeSautell!
